The Life Of An Indian Farmer.

So we know that india is a land of villages and is also called an agricultural country because agriculture is the backbone of indian economy. The majority of our population lives in villages and most of them are farmers. An indian farmer is way hard working than we could ever think of.

They are the reason of our survival as they provide us food without which this life is impossible and still they live a life which is full of difficulties and miseries. Inspite of their hard labour they are the part of extreme poverty, they born in debt, live in debt and dies in debt.

Role of Farmers

Before 1970s India was not self-sufficent in producing food grains and were used to import grains from other countries in huge sum but when they try to extort and blackmail indians the then prime minister of india Lal Bahadur Shastri gave a slogan ''Jai Jawan Jai Kisan'' to motivate our farmers to make india stands on its own and not be dependent on other countries.

After this, the green revolution started in India and we became self-sufficient in food grains and not only that we started exporting to other countries. Even they contributes so much to indian economy they live a misrable life. They are called the driving force of our economy. Every citizen of the country is dependent on the products produced by them because that is the basic need of life.

 Their Present Conditions

Nowadays the situation has gotten so worse the farmers are commiting suicide because of the heavy burden of debts and lack of source of income and incapability of feeding their families and themselves.
What can be worse than this that the one who is feeding is not getting enough food for their families and are forced to commit suicide because that is the only option they are left with.

Everyday there is report of farmer suicides from different parts of the country. If we see this overall, this happens all because of the partial difference between the productivity and the price of the products. It goes like if the productivity is higher then the price will be lower and vice versa. Their level of productivity and yield depends on the rainfall every season it's all on the mercy of god.
Many a times their crops have been destroyed due to heavy rains and that's the time their miseries begins. Famines and flood often takes away the hard work of the farmers

But now the government is giving its utmost attention to the problems of farmers. Various programmes of villlage and villagers upliftment has been introduced and various schemes have been launched by the government like:
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna (PM-KISAN) ,
Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojna (PMSKY) ,
Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY) ,
Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojna (PKVY)
and many more in the list.

Let's hope that in near future their situations will be improved and their life would be better from their life today. They would be healthy, happy and prosperous and would be no longer in debt , as at present because whenever the news of their suicide comes i can surely say we all somewhere get stumped.
Because of them we are living this life all healthy and happy so let's pray together for their well-being.
